Digital & Ecommerce Manager (Consultant)

Role:  HOTSHOT Digital & Ecommerce Manager – Consultant

Location:  Boston, MA (Back Bay)

Travel:  <10%

Position Overview:

The Digital & Ecommerce Manager will be responsible for the design, development, implementation, and continuous improvement of a robust on-line strategy to drive growth through HOTSHOT’s largest sales channels: TeamHOTSHOT.com and Amazon.com. The scope of this role includes leadership of all online growth initiatives (organic & paid) as well as management & oversight of the HOTSHOT website content and infrastructure.   The Digital & Ecommerce Manager will be an integral part of the HOTSHOT sales & marketing organization and will interact regularly with partner agencies in the execution of the brand strategy.

This role is for a self-starter who is collaborative, creative, thrives in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment, and wants to have a big impact at a fast-growing company.  

This position reports to the VP of Marketing.

Responsibilities:

Strategic Planning

  • -Design, implement and manage ecommerce strategy to drive traffic and conversion with emphasis on efficiency/optimization of spend.
  • -Partner with brand team and agencies to build out communication strategies across email, on-site content and social to increase reach, awareness and conversion.
  • -Develop and measure against eCommerce business forecast across direct-to-consumer (teamhotshot.com) and Amazon.com.

Analytics & Insights

  • -Lead analysis of all digital and ecommerce initiatives including on-going tracking and reporting of eCommerce metrics (via Google Analytics, Shopify & Amazon.)
  • -Conduct deep dive analysis to identify trends and develop recommendations based on findings.
  • -Identify opportunities for and execute A/B testing to optimize digital messaging, positioning and promotions.

Customer Acquisition & Optimization

  • -Manage paid and organic online customer acquisition campaigns and retention programs.
  • -Partner and lead agency team (who executes) to optimize paid media plan across SEM, display and paid social channels in keeping with KPIs.

Site Management

Partner with external technical resources to maintain TeamHOTSHOT.com site and ecommerce functionality.

  • -Roadmap & lead execution of site updates to optimize content in keeping with brand positioning, creative, and conversion optimizations (CRO.)

CRM

  • -Manage, execute and optimize email campaigns via MailChimp for TeamHOTSHOT.com, including:
    • -Automated drip campaigns for existing customers to drive retention & repeat buyer growth;
    • -Communications to prospects who’ve provided their email address to the brand but not yet converted.

Qualifications:

  • -Bachelor’s Degree required.
  • -4-6 years of consumer brand experience, including ecommerce and digital / mobile marketing, with a broad grasp of on-line strategies across various platforms and channels.
  • -Successful track record developing ecommerce business plans and marketing campaigns that deliver against sales targets for new and repeat customers.
  • -Strong strategic thinker with analytical chops and demonstrated experience using research/analytic platforms to generate insights in support of recommendations.
  • -Meticulous team leader with ability to seamlessly toggle between big picture orientation and attention to detail.
  • -Exceptional communicator and collaborator, with proven ability to forge productive relationships with key stakeholders and manage external vendors to deliver results
  • -Innovative problem solver with the ability to remove roadblocks through creative problem-solving
  • -Self-motivated, adaptable and fluid with change, able to lead action despite ambiguity.
  • -At ease presenting to, interacting with and being challenged by senior leadership.
  • -Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, Google Suite (Analytics, Tag Manager, AdWords) and Shopify.
  • -SalesForce, MailChimp and WordPress experience a plus.

Supply Chain and Operations Lead (Consultant)

Role:  HOTSHOT Supply Chain and Operations Lead – Consultant

Location:  Boston, MA (Back Bay)

Position Overview:

The Supply Chain and Operations Lead is responsible for managing, optimizing and driving innovation through the HOTSHOT supply chain which includes purchasing, distribution, quality, customer service and co-packer management. This role will ensure HOTSHOT supply chain and operational capabilities continuously evolve to meet business demand and priorities, deliver cost and efficiency targets, and match or exceed customer service level expectations. The successful candidate will partner with cross-functionals and external suppliers to drive performance and excellence in execution and ensure constant collaboration and communication with key internal and external stakeholders.

This role is for someone who is passionate about process and the details, thrives in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment, and wants to have a big impact at a fast-growing company. This position reports into the VP of Marketing and currently has one direct report.

Detailed Responsibilities:

  • -Provide analysis, direction, and hands-on, day-to-day management of supply chain including sourcing raw materials and managing co-packers, vendors, warehousing and logistics to deliver product to market on deadline
  • -Manage the HOTSHOT supply chain and operations from production planning and procurement through to fulfillment of customer orders. Monitor and manage inventory levels across various locations
  • -Plan, develop and implement strategies for operational management to meet organizational performance plans and gross margin targets within agreed budgets and deadlines
  • -Oversee formulation and manufacturing of product. Ensure product meets all testing requirements and maintains all certifications (USDA Organic, Non-GMO, NSF, Kosher, Gluten-Free).
  • -Spearhead COGS improvement initiatives to drive down cost of goods leveraging all available levers.
  • -Manage external vendors including co-packers, raw material suppliers and other logistics vendors. Manage bidding process and negotiate optimal pricing with all supply chain vendors
  • -Create systems and processes to successfully deliver against operational targets and KPIs and develop continuous process improvement strategies to drive ongoing operational efficiencies.
  • -Monitor logistics of orders and work with vendors for freight utilization to minimize case delivery costs
  • -Ensure order fulfillment, invoicing accuracy and cash collection. Manage the month-end responsibilities related to inventory
  • -Assist with key financial planning and reporting (forecasting, tracking, reporting and financial and operational analysis) and partner with leadership to strengthen and implement financial tools, metrics and processes to drive financial performance
  • -Communicate consistently and effectively with key stakeholders including Finance, Sales and Marketing. Prepare ad-hoc reports, present findings and make recommendations to management regarding Cost of Goods and Supply Chain Vendors and partners
  • -Update, analyze and distribute monthly dashboards to key stakeholders, summarizing key financial measures and identifying trends
  • -Provide feasibility guidance and project planning support to cross-functional initiatives, including packaging and other innovation
  • -Effectively manage controls and procedures in a public company environment

Qualifications:

  • -Bachelor’s degree in Business or Supply Chain Management
  • -Demonstrated success at a manager level or above with broad supply chain and operational experience
  • -Direct experience in consumer packaged goods, preferably a beverage. Background in lifestyle brand and e-commerce is a plus
  • -Progressive responsibility in material planning, production, product stability, procurement, inventory management and logistics. Experience managing controls or processes in public company setting preferred
  • -Proficiency in managing multiple vendor resources (e.g. packing, distribution, production) and holding them accountable to agreed upon SLAs
  • -Ability to evaluate and implement various distribution strategies
  • -Experience negotiating contracts and with key financial planning and reporting (e.g. forecasting)
  • -Ability to lead, manage and coach direct reports
  • -Excellent time management skills, with the ability to handle many priorities simultaneously
  • -Extremely collaborative with strong interpersonal skills
  • -Confident, able to articulate a clear point of view, transparent and fearless with a strong ability to aggregate and disseminate information
  • -Ability to troubleshoot and problem solve on the fly
  • -Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • -Ability to communicate succinctly and with high-level executives
