Brand Manager

Location: Boston, MA (Back Bay)

The Position:

The Brand Manager is responsible for optimizing and driving growth of the HOTSHOT brand to deliver and exceed both short and long term goals. In partnership with cross-functionals and external agencies, optimize the brand positioning and re-imagine brand messaging and execution to drive awareness, trial, and engagement, driving the HOTSHOT brand and product to absolute necessity status for our target consumer. Ensure constant collaboration and communication across internal and external partners to drive consistency and excellence in execution, while capitalizing on optimization opportunities ongoing.

This role is for someone who is passionate about general management as the definition of brand management, thrives in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment, and wants to have a big impact at a fast-growing company. In this role, you will shape the face of the HOTSHOT brand and participate in the explosive growth of the business. There is opportunity for career growth as the brand expands.

This position reports to the VP of Marketing.

Responsibilities:

– Develop and execute marketing strategies and plans across all vehicles (media, PR, promotions, social, experiential) to deliver growth for HOTSHOT brand.
– Gather consumer insights through quantitative and qualitative means and translate into brand recommendations and creative marketing plans.
– Ongoing, assess competitive landscape to keep abreast of threats & opportunities. Develop plans to mitigate and maximize.
– Pro-actively analyze and interpret data on brand and program performance to generate insights and recommendations. Evaluate success of programs based on cost / benefit to the business.
– Develop and manage innovation pipeline to deliver consumer-led, disruptive innovation to market.
– Author inspiring creative briefs and manage agency partners to deliver breakthrough, holistic campaigns with excellence.
– Collaborate with field marketing & sales to deliver impactful consumer experiences at events and in-store.
– Manage brand budget in accordance with annual plan objectives.

Qualifications:

– Bachelor’s Degree. MBA strongly preferred.
– Minimum 3 years’ brand and P&L management experience in a consumer package goods company.
– Professional experience in and/or personal passion for endurance athletics, sports, sports nutrition and/or beverages a plus.
– Experience has included most of the following: brand business planning, budget management, creative development, 360o holistic campaign design & execution, event marketing, agency management (creative, media, PR, digital, social), consumer research, new product development, e-commerce, and shopper marketing.
– Strong strategic thinker with analytical chops to generate insights in support of recommendations
– Able and willing to pivot from high level thinking appropriate for Board of Directors to management of minutia in support of field marketing.
– Comfortable leading projects, agency and cross-functional partners with limited oversight.
– Self-motivated, adaptable and fluid with change, able to lead action despite ambiguity.
– At ease presenting to, interacting with and being challenged by senior leadership.
– Excellent time management skills – highly organized and able to manage multiple tasks/projects simultaneously to get things done in a start-up environment
– Extremely collaborative, with strong interpersonal and communication skills

Sales Director

Location: Boston, MA (Back Bay)              Travel: 50%

Position Overview:

The Sales Director will be a mission critical leader for the HOTSHOT business as we drive toward explosive growth. In this role, the Sales Director will design and implement sales & channel strategy and provide ongoing leadership of the sales function including developing and executing the sales strategies, tactics and action plans required to achieve in-market volume and financial plans.

This position reports to the VP of Marketing.

Responsibilities:

Strategic Planning:
– Develop Sales & Channel strategy (e.g. new markets, new customers, new product opportunities)
Annual Plan:
– Establish sales objective, tactics, and profit targets
– Manage contingency plan to achieve targets
– Identify, analyze and report on business opportunities in target markets (customers and events)
– Maximize new business development opportunities
– Effectively communicate the value proposition through proposals and presentations
– Develop and own sales scorecard
– Participate with Marketing in the development of divisional marketing strategies as well as point-of-sale and related materials as appropriate
Relationship Management:
– Work proactively with customers across abroad range of channels to understand their business and develop strong relationships
– Collaborate with cross-functional team members to ensure customer needs are built into broader business plan
– Participate in national and regional trade shows
Team Leadership:
– Lead the hiring, training and retention of the sales team or Agency / 3rd Party Resources

Qualifications:

– Bachelor’s Degree required.
– 5-7 years’ field and customer sales experience in a consumer package goods company. Prefer breadth of brand experiences and companies of different sizes.
– Professional experience in and/or personal passion for endurance athletics, sports, sports nutrition and/or beverages a plus.
– Experience across multiple channels and go-to-market models (e.g. Food / Drug / Mass, Specialty, Warehouse, Brokers, Distributors).
– Shopper marketing and/or event marketing experience a plus with proven ability to translate brand strategy into activation.
– Strong strategic thinker with analytical chops to generate insights in support of recommendations.
– Meticulous team leader with ability to seamlessly toggle between big picture orientation and attention to detail.
– Self-motivated, adaptable and fluid with change, able to lead action despite ambiguity.
– At ease presenting to, interacting with and being challenged by senior leadership.
– Proficient in Microsoft Office suite.

Freelance Graphic Designer (Part-Time)

Location: Boston, MA (Back Bay)

Position Overview:

HOTSHOT is seeking a wildly creative and innovative Freelance Graphic Designer to lead the design and implementation of our visual identity across all media. The Graphic Designer will be responsible for designing and executing breakthrough, brand-appropriate concepts and materials for packaging, collateral, website, email campaigns, events and retail. The ideal candidate will have a working knowledge of design technology and conventions, coupled with a project management mindset to bring to bear against a variety of projects with tight timelines.

This role is for a self-starter, who thrives in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment, and wants to have a big impact at a fast-growing company. In this role, you will shape the visual expression of the HOTSHOT brand and participate in the explosive growth of the business.

This position reports to the VP of Marketing.

Responsibilities:

– Be the HOTSHOT visual expert and authority responsible for producing breakthrough brand visuals in support of the brand strategy and marketing plan.
– Design and execute consumer experience of HOTSHOT at events and in-store.
– Lead full spectrum of production including layout, copy insertion, image import and proofing / review.
– Partner with external agencies on select projects.
– Manage multiple project timelines and track projects through to completion to ensure on-time delivery with excellence.
– Maintain an organized project library and asset repository.

Qualifications:

– Bachelor’s Degree in graphic design / visual communications.
– Minimum 3 years’ graphic design experience across media (print, digital, print, ecommerce, packaging). Consumer package goods experience preferred.
– Personal passion for endurance athletics, sports, sports nutrition a plus.
– Highly organized, able to juggle multiple projects at once under tight deadlines while maintaining high level of accuracy and quality.
– Externally focused on cutting edge trends in design to keep your skills sharp and inspiration at hand.
– Strong proficiency in typography and design fundamentals. Expert knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, PowerPoint and other industry software.
