What is in HOTSHOT?
HOTSHOT is a USDA Certified Organic, non-GMO Project Verified, Vegan sports shot with a proprietary formulation that stimulates sensory nerves in the mouth, esophagus, and stomach. Learn more about sensory nerves and TRP channels here.
Each sport shot contains filtered water, organic cane sugar, organic gum arabic, organic lime juice concentrate, pectin, sea salt, natural flavor, organic stevia extract, organic cinnamon, organic ginger and organic capsaicin. It is Kosher and Caffeine-free.
Why does HOTSHOT have a kick?
The kick comes from the scientifically proven formulation of organic spice extracts. These are the active ingredients that make HOTSHOT the breakthrough sports shot that really works. By stimulating sensory nerves located in your mouth, esophagus and stomach, HOTSHOT prevents neurons from misfiring and stops muscle cramps before they start – it’s like a re-set button for your nervous system. HOTSHOT tastes even better cold. Learn more about sensory nerves and TRP channels here.
How is HOTSHOT different from other muscle cramp products?
HOTSHOT is the only scientifically proven solution to prevent and treat muscle cramps. Unlike existing “remedies” that target the muscle, HOTSHOT stops muscle cramps where they start – at the nerve. Invented by Dr. Rod MacKinnon, a Nobel Prize-winning neuroscientist/endurance athlete, HOTSHOT is the result of years of scientific research and testing.
Does HOTSHOT help with Muscle Soreness or Muscle Pain?
HOTSHOT was designed to help you take your best shot…. Including reducing muscle soreness! We asked 288 athletes to use HOTSHOT for two weeks as part of their workout routine, 84% of them told us they experienced less muscle soreness. Of the athletes, 92% also reported less muscle pain and 88% said their next day workouts were better because they felt less muscle soreness. Try it in training so you can keep pushing harder.
How do I know HOTSHOT does not contain any prohibited substances?
HOTSHOT is NSF Certified for Sport®, free of over 200 common banned substances. The World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) does not approve individual products, and the NSF follows WADA guidelines. HOTSHOT is also USDA Certified Organic, Kosher and non-GMO Project Verified.
How does HOTSHOT work?
Muscle cramps don’t start in your muscles. They start in your nerves. They happen when your neurons get hyper-excited and blast your muscles with repetitive and uncontrollable signals. HOTSHOT’s proprietary formulation of organic ingredients goes straight to the nerve. By stimulating sensory nerves located in your mouth, esophagus and stomach, HOTSHOT prevents neurons from misfiring and stops muscle cramps before they start. It’s like a reset button for your nervous system.
What is the scientific evidence behind HOTSHOT for muscle cramps?
HOTSHOT’s formulation of strong sensory nerve activators has shown a statistically significant reduction in muscle cramp intensity compared to placebo in two distinct muscle cramp models: 1) electrically-induced muscle cramps; and 2) an innovative new model developed by Penn State University to measure exercise-associated muscle cramps.

A field study of cramp-prone endurance athletes who consumed HOTSHOT 15-30 minutes before their normal training sessions showed a greater than 50 percent reduction in the frequency of exercise-associated muscle cramps during and after exercise compared to the observed baseline frequency. In addition, the athletes reported a quicker return to training when a cramp episode did occur.

When should I drink HOTSHOT?
To prevent muscle cramps, we recommend drinking HOTSHOT 15-30 minutes before any athletic exercise. To treat muscle cramps, drink at the first sign of cramping. You can also drink HOTSHOT after exercise to prevent post-exercise cramping. For best results, avoid food or beverages that may coat your mouth – such as peanut butter, protein shakes or dairy – 10 minutes before drinking HOTSHOT. Tastes even better cold.
Should I drink HOTSHOT all at once?
Yes, if you want the best results, drink it like you would drink a shot. We spent years of testing to scientifically prove that a 1.7 oz bottle of HOTSHOT is what prevents and treats muscle cramps. And since HOTSHOT is made with organic ingredients that are all GRAS (Generally Recognized as Safe), there’s no restriction on the number HOTSHOT bottles you can drink a day.
